Do you have an issue with broken or underperforming fibre optics?

It’s worth remembering that it’s not always necessary to replace broken fibre optics with new ones.

Fibre optic repairs are often possible, providing an affordable, quick fix that can buy you time to plan the purchase of a new assembly.

There is no minimum order value or quantity for our repair services. They are all performed in-house by experienced fibre optic engineers. Each repair project is bespoke and unique to each individual customer.

Our repair services include:

  • Emergency worldwide fibre optic repairs for mission critical infrastructure
  • Repairing damaged fibre optic harnesses, jumpers, assemblies, looms, cables, and patchcords
  • Upgrading existing or repairing damaged fibre optic harnesses
  • Repairing damaged connector ends by replacing the connectors
  • Re-engineering obsolete and legacy assemblies

Extending the in-service life of your assets

Sometimes there are unique situations in which the repair of failing fibre optic assets is urgent. As industry leaders, we’ve honed our skills, facilities and stocks so it is possible, if required, to turn specialist fibre optic repairs around in days, sometimes, the same day for very specific requirements.

We often take our expertise onsite to clients around the world for emergency repairs or when the fibre is unable to be moved from the customers site.

All these services have been designed to extend the in-service life of the asset containing fibre optics. This reduces costs, improves reliability and removes unnecessary delays to replace, this is often more important than cost implication in areas of mission critical applications.

It is difficult to express my admiration for the level of ability that exists within your organisation to not only restore full optical functionality, but to also manufacture additional parts to actually improve the original design. Well done and thank you for a job perfectly executed.

Our work in action…

The client: Wind energy solution

The brief:  Repair to wind turbine legacy equipment

Fibre optics are often a tiny but crucial element to a communication system.

In this instance, damage had occurred to the TX and RX transmit and receive fibre optic diodes ST, HFBR-2412TCZ, RX and HFBR-1414TZ, TX.

Some of the pins which connect to the board had broken, alongside damage to the front of the diode. Once we dismantled the CT 318 VCS-VCP MEGA WATT ST processor within our anti-static chamber, we could remove all damaged parts and replace new diodes.

Similar processors can also have their fibre optic diodes replaced using another connector such as SMA.
